Getting over my hill and seeing what I find there.

Hey, there.  My name is Emily.  I'm eighteen years old.

Have you ever been in that place where you don't know where your metaphorical foot will land with your next metaphorical step?  Or where you're going up a hill and you can't see what's at the top?  All you know is that you have to keep going.  Going back is not an option.  But sometimes you're tempted to just stay where you are.  To curl up in a ball and sit there, halfway up your hill.  Or maybe you're even tempted to pitch yourself from the precipice...to just give up climbing altogether.

But you know in your heart that that would be wrong.

Your only choice is to take another step, and to hope that the hand helping you upward knows exactly what it's doing and has something good waiting for you at the top.

I hope you choose to "get over your hill and see what you find there, with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair."
